AC Milan handed Real Madrid a 3-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday, marking the second consecutive loss for the Spanish giants. Kylian Mbappe, the French striker, continued his goal drought, failing to score once again for Madrid.

Mbappe has now scored just once in his last six matches for the team across all competitions, with Madrid suffering three losses in that stretch.

The match kicked off with Milan taking the lead in the 12th minute through Malick Thiaw's header from a corner, which beat Madrid's goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. Madrid responded shortly after, with Vinicius Junior converting a penalty following a foul by Emerson Royal.

However, Milan regained the advantage in the 39th minute, with former Madrid player Alvaro pouncing on a rebound after Lunin saved a shot from Rafael Leao.

In the second half, Milan's Tijjani Reijnders sealed the victory with a clinical finish after Leao's excellent solo run and assist in the 73rd minute. Real Madrid had a brief moment of hope when Antonio Rudiger scored following a Maignan punch, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Milan's defense stood strong, with goalkeeper Mike Maignan making crucial saves, including denying Mbappe once again and keeping Madrid from mounting any serious comeback.

Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti made only one change from their previous defeat to Barcelona, bringing in Luka Modric for Eduardo Camavinga. Despite the changes, Madrid couldn't improve on their performance.

Real Madrid's loss comes after a heavy 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in late October. Their match against Valencia was postponed due to severe flooding in Spain, meaning this was their first game back since that humiliating defeat.

Madrid defender Lucas Vazquez spoke to the media after the match, acknowledging the team's struggles. "We are going through a period when our opponents are punishing us a lot and we have to keep working so that this doesn't happen again," he said.

The result leaves Real Madrid in a precarious position in their Champions League group, sitting in the middle of the table with two losses from four matches, just one place above Milan.

Next up for Real Madrid is a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool, where Ancelotti will hope his team can recover from their recent setbacks.
