Manchester City has secured the signing of Brazil winger Savinho from French club Troyes in a transfer deal valued at 40 million euros (£30.8 million). The 20-year-old will be with the club until 2029.

Savinho, who impressed during a loan spell at last , contributed significantly to their third-place finish in La Liga. Girona and Troyes are affiliated with the City Football Group.

Savinho expressed his enthusiasm for joining Manchester City, stating, "City are currently the 'best team in the world'," and praised manager Pep , calling him "one of the greatest coaches ever." He emphasized his excitement about the move, saying, "[Because of] everything I've seen today. I just got here this morning and I turned to my agent and stepfather and said, 'there was no way I was going to turn down Manchester City.'"

The Brazilian winger, known also as Savio, began his career with Atletico Mineiro before moving to Troyes in the summer of 2022. Despite not playing a competitive match for Troyes, he was loaned to PSV Eindhoven for the 2022-23 season. After making only eight appearances for PSV, Savinho found success on loan at Girona, where he scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions. He also received his first senior call-up for Brazil in March, making his debut against England and scoring his first international goal against Paraguay during the Copa America group stage.

City's director of football, Txiki Begiristain, commented on the signing, stating, "He has a big role to play for Manchester City this season and beyond. We are totally confident in his ability. He is still young and has the potential to become even better, and everyone knows that Pep is the best at helping players develop even further. But he has already shown his huge quality and technical ability and is an exciting addition to our attacking area."
