The New York Knicks and head coach Tom Thibodeau have agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2027-28 season, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Thibodeau, a two-time NBA Coach of the Year, has led the Knicks to the Eastern Conference semifinals in each of the last two seasons since joining the organization ahead of the shortened 2020-21 campaign.

This extension is the latest in a series of significant moves for the Knicks this summer. The has signed All-Star guard Jalen Brunson to a four-year, $156.5-million extension and re-signed forward OG Anunoby to a five-year, $212.5-million deal.

Additionally, New York acquired Mikal Bridges in a three-team with the Brooklyn Nets and , involving Bojan Bogdanovic, guard Shake Milton, and several future first-round picks.

Thibodeau's tenure with the Knicks is his third permanent head coaching position in the NBA, following previous roles with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves.
