The and Tom Thibodeau have agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2027-28 season, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Thibodeau, a two-time Coach of the Year, has led the Knicks to the Eastern Conference semifinals in each of the last two seasons since joining the organization ahead of the shortened 2020-21 campaign.

This extension is the latest in a series of significant moves for the Knicks this summer. The team has signed All-Star guard Jalen Brunson to a four-year, $156.5-million extension and re-signed forward OG Anunoby to a five-year, $212.5-million deal.

Additionally, New York acquired Mikal Bridges in a three-team trade with the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets, involving Bojan Bogdanovic, guard Shake Milton, and several future first-round picks.

Thibodeau's tenure with the Knicks is his third permanent head coaching position in the NBA, following previous roles with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves.
