Boise State's climb was propelled by BYU's drop from No. 6 to No. 14 after Kansas snapped their undefeated streak. Boise State's inclusion in the top 12 places the Broncos among the teams that would bypass the first round of the playoffs if the season concluded today. Oregon, Texas, and Miami, as the highest-ranked leaders of their respective conferences, would also enjoy first-round byes.

Despite the loss, BYU remains the top-ranked Big 12 team and retains a spot in the CFP at No. 14. Tennessee, however, finds itself outside the CFP picture at No. 11, even with an 8-2 record.

The rankings showcase the dominance of the Big Ten, which accounts for four of the top five teams, while the SEC boasts a strong presence with eight teams in the top 25.

Newcomers to the Top 25 Rankings:

This week welcomed four new entries: Arizona State (No. 21), Iowa State (No. 22), UNLV (No. 24), and Illinois (No. 25).
