Report: Jets' Aaron Rodgers Battling Multiple Injuries, Avoids Scans to Stay on the Fieldillustration

The New York Jets' season has fallen far short of expectations, with the sitting at 3-8 despite hopes that Aaron Rodgers would lead them to playoff contention. One factor in the disappointing performance may be Rodgers' ongoing health issues.

According to NFL Media, the 40-year-old quarterback is dealing with hamstring, knee, and ankle injuries, which could be hindering his play. Rodgers has reportedly chosen not to undergo medical scans, avoiding confirmation of the injuries' severity. This decision stems from his determination to remain on the field, even as the injuries persist.

Despite landing on the injury report multiple times, Rodgers has started all 11 games this season. His injuries include a low ankle sprain sustained in a Week 5 game against the , which he played through for several weeks, and a hamstring issue that worsened during the Week 7 matchup against the . Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich noted the hamstring had "flared up" during that game.

Rodgers' physical condition has been a concern since the season began. In the Jets' Week 4 loss to the Denver Broncos, he acknowledged his knee was "a little swollen." While reports suggest the hamstring injury is significant, Rodgers has consistently assured teammates and coaches, "I'm playing."

This season follows Rodgers' recovery from an Achilles injury sustained just four snaps into the Jets' opening offensive drive of 2023. His performances this year have been hampered by physical limitations, raising doubts about his readiness.

The Jets have a bye in Week 12, providing a chance for Rodgers and the team to recuperate. With six games remaining and New York reportedly reconsidering Rodgers' future, the final stretch could prove critical for the veteran quarterback and the franchise.
